I. MELCHIZEDEK’S BIOGRAPHY (Hebrews 7:1-3).
A. Priest of the Most High God (Hebrews 7:1).
B. His name:Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:2). King of righteousness.
C. His title: King of Salem (Hebrews 7:2). King of peace.
D. A perpetual priest (Hebrews 7:3), he lives on (Hebrews 7:8).
II. MELCHIZEDEK AS A TYPE OF CHRIST (Hebrews 7:3).
A. MELCHIZEDEK was both PRIEST and KING (Hebrews 7:1-2) and PROPHET (Genesis 14:19-20).
B. MELCHIZEDEK as the “King of righteousness” Christ is THE King of Righteousness and Righteousness sums up his life and ministry.
