THE CALL OF ABRAHAM (Gen. 12).

1. A sovereign call.

2. A gracious call. Josh. 24:2.

3. It was an efficacious call.

B. THE COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM (Gen. 12).

1. “A great nation” (12:2).

a) The obvious problem.

b) How does God provide a seed for Abraham?

c) Its fulfillment in the new covenant.

2. “In you all the families of the earth will be blessed” (12:3).

3. “To your descendants I will give this land” (12:7).

a) An eternal inheritance (13:15; 17:8).

b) God seals His promise of the land (15:7-8).

c) The glorious future of the land promise.

d) Why the land promise?
