A. THE COUNTERFEITS CONSIDERED (Matthew 7:21).

B. THE COUNTERFEITS COUNTED (Matthew 7:22a).
1. “Many”
2. Judgment day. “on that day”. Cf. Matthew 25:41; John 5:22
C. THE COUNTERFEITS’ CONFESSION (Matthew 7:22).
1. “Lord, Lord.”
2. “In Your name did we not prophesy?”
3. “In your name cast out demons?”
4. “In your name perform many miracles?”
D. THE COUNTERFEITS CONDEMNED (Matthew 7:23).
1. Christ’s confession – “I never knew you.” Verdict.
2. Christ’s condemnation – “Depart from Me.” Sentence.
3. Christ’s confirmation – “you who practice lawlessness.” Evidence.
Conclusion
1. Being gifted does not mean you are going to heaven.
2. Refutes any notion of works salvation.
3. Let us all examine our hearts to see if our faith is alive.
4. Assurance of salvation requires evidence of a changed heart.
