Intro

A. STIRRING UP THE MIND (2 Peter 3:1).

1. “Beloved” –

2. Purpose: “to stir up your minds to remember”. Cf. 2 Peter 1:13.

B. REMEMBER THE WORD OF GOD (2 Peter 3:1-2).

1. Words spoken by the holy prophets.

2. Commandment of Christ given by the apostles.

C. LAST DAYS MOCKERS (2 Peter 3:3-4).

1. Know this first of all (2 Peter 3:3).

2. In the last days (2 Peter 3:3). Acts 2:17; Heb. 1:2; 1 Pet. 1:20

3. Mockers will mock, following their own lusts (2 Peter 3:3).

4. Mockers will deny Christ’s coming (2 Peter 3:4).

a. “Where is the promise of His coming?”

b. “For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”

D. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SECOND COMING.
