Eyes to See
Intro:
- GOD PROTECTS HIS PEOPLE.
- a) God protected the king of Israel (vv. 8-10).
- b) God protected Elisha (vv. 11-19).
1) The servant’s fear.
2) Elisha’s faith and calm.
3) Elisha’s prayer.
(a) The horses and chariots of fire.
(b) The Aramean army struck blind
Application: Let us praise God for His protection.
1John 4:4 Greater is He who is in you that he who is in the world
Psa. 125:2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.
Psa. 121:8 The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever.
Psa. 34:7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.
2Th. 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
1Pet. 1:5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
God protects His people. Everything that happens to us is according to His good and sanctifying purpose for our life
- WE NEED PROTECTION.

- BLESSED ARE THE EYES THAT SEE CHARIOTS OF FIRE.
- a) Believers need better vision.
- b) How were his eyes opened?
1) BELIEVING IN THE WORD OF GOD (v. 16).
Jude 1:24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,
Phil. 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
1Th. 5:23 ¶ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Th. 5:24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
Rom. 8:31 ¶ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
Rom. 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Psa. 121:7 The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul.

Rom. 8 – Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.
Rom. 6 – Sin shall not be master over you for you are not under law but under grace.
Psa. 16:8 I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
2) PRAYER (v. 17). “O Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.”
Only God can give us eyes to see His protection.
