Loving Your Neighbor
Intro
A. LOVE FOR GOD AND LOVE FOR NEIGHBOR.
1) Love for neighbor is linked to love for God.
2) Love for others reflects your love for God. 1 Jn. 4:20-21; 5:1.
B. LOVING OUR NEIGHBOR (Mark 12:31).
1) Why is it important? 1 Jn. 3:14; 4:7; Jn. 13:35.
2) Who is our neighbor? Lk. 10:29-37.
3) How do we love others?
a) “as yourself.”
(1) Not modern psychological self-love.
(2) Biblical self-love. Prov. 19:8; Eph. 5:28.
(3) Sinful self-love.
b) with Christ-like love
(1) A love that sacrifices. 1 Jn. 3:16; Jn. 15:13.
(2) A love that serves. Mark 10:45
(3) A love that forgives. 1 Pet. 4:8
