I. GOD’S ACTIVE SOVEREIGNTY OVER THE WORLD (v. 1).

II. GOD CAUSES HIS PEOPLE TO PREVAIL OVER ATTACKERS (vv. 2-6).

A. Jerusalem is a cup that causes reeling (v. 2).

B. Jerusalem a heavy stone that causes injury (v. 3).

C. Attackers struck with bewilderment, blindness, and madness (vv. 4-5).

D. Judah’s leaders is a firepot and flaming torch that consumes (v. 6).

III. THE LORD INTERVENES FOR HIS PEOPLE (vv. 7-9).

A. The LORD saves Judah (v. 7).

B. The LORD defends Jerusalem (v. 8).

C. The LORD will destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem (v. 9).
