Intro

A. SATAN’S SECOND ENCOUNTER WITH GOD (2:1-6).

1. Initial dialogue (Job 2:1-2).

2. God initiates the second trial (Job 2:3).

3. God says He was incited by Satan (Job 2:3).

a. God takes full responsibility for ruining Job.

b. “incited” emphasizes God is holding Satan responsible for his part.

4. Satan’s second proposal (Job 2:4-5).

a. “skin for skin” –

b. “all that a man has he will give for his life” –

5. God gives Satan permission (Job 2:6).

B. SATAN’S ATTACK (Job 2:7-8).

1. “sore boils from sole of his foot to crown of his head” (Job 2:7).

2. Scraping with a potsherd (Job 2:8).

3. Sitting among the ashes (Job 2:8).

C. WIFE’S ATTACK (Job 2:9).

1. “Do you still hold fast your integrity?”

2. “Curse God and die!”

D. JOB’S RESPONSE (Job 2:10).

1. Rebuke of his wife.

2. Trust in God.
