The Gospel to Felix
Intro
A. FELIX AND DRUSILLA (Acts 24:22-24).
1. Felix had a “more exact knowledge about the Way” (Acts 24:22-23).
2. Drusilla the Jewess (Acts 24:24).
B. PAUL’S GOSPEL EMPHASIS (Acts 24:24-25).
1. Faith in Christ Jesus (Acts 24:24) -
2. Righteousness (Acts 24:25) -
3. Self-control (Acts 24:25) -
4. Judgment to come (Acts 24:25) -
C. FELIX’S RESPONSE (Acts 24:25b-27).
1. Fear (Acts 24:25b).
2. Greed (Acts 24:26).
3. Appeasement (Acts 24:27).
4. Procrastination: two-fold (Acts 24:22, 27).
a. In releasing Paul.
b. In coming to Christ.
(1) Some procrastinate thinking there is plenty of time.
(2) Others procrastinate not seeing the danger they are in.
(3) Still others reject a future judgment altogether.
Conclusion/Application - the day of judgment is coming.
