A. THE CHARACTER OF THE CHURCH (1 Peter 2:9-10).

3. Holy nation – Ex. 19:6; Phil. 3:20
a. Christ as Israel – Isa. 49:1-8; Mt. 2:13
b. The body of Christ as Israel – Mt. 21:43
4. People for God’s own possession – Ex. 19:5; Deut. 7:6
5. Not a people but now the people of God – Hos. 2:23
6. Not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
B. THE CHARGE TO THE CHURCH (1 Peter 2:9).
1. Proclaim God’s excellencies in worship.
