Intro
I. THE JEALOUSY OF GOD
- The jealousy of God revealed.
a) The Second Commandment, Ex. 20:4-5.
2. Jealousy is His name, Ex. 34:14 “for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”
3) God’s jealousy reflects His intense love toward His people.
- The jealousy of God expressed.
1) Wrath on His people. Ex. 20:5 “You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,
2) Wrath on the enemies of His people. Zech. 8:2 “Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘I am exceedingly jealous for Zion, yes, with great wrath I am jealous for her.’ Nah. 1:2.
3) God’s zeal for the good of His people (vv. 3-23).
“the LORD of hosts” (v. 2) -
a) God will return and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem (v. 3).
b) Jerusalem will be renamed (vv. 3) –
c) Peace and happiness (vv. 4-5).
d) God will save and restore His people (vv. 7-8).
e) The land and people will be prosperous (vv. 11-15).
f) Their fasting will turn to joyful feasting (vv. 18-19).
g) The Lord will add many Gentiles to His people (vv. 20-23).
II. WHEN FULFILLED?

III. HOW RESPOND?
