Intro

A. THE MISSION FROM JESUS (John 20:21).

1) Repetition of “peace.”

2) This is John’s version of the GREAT COMMISSION.

3) Our mission is linked to Jesus’ mission.

a) Speak God’s Word.

b) Submit to God’s Will.

c) Save God’s World.

d) Show God’s Wonder.

B. THE POWER FROM JESUS (John 20:22).

1) Jesus breathed on them.

2) The Spirit gives power to be witnesses.

C. THE AUTHORITY FROM JESUS (John 20:23).

1) No elite group with authority to forgive sins.

2) Our role is to pronounce God’s verdict.
