I. TO SHARE OUR NATURE (Hebrews 2:14a).

A. “Likewise” and “the same”?

D. Why take on human flesh?

 

II. TO DEFEAT OUR ENEMY (Hebrews 2:14b-15).

 

A. Christ defeated the devil on the cross (Hebrews 2:14).

 

1) The devil had the power of death.

 

 

2) Christ took it from him.

 

 

B. Christ sets the captives free from the fear of death (Hebrews 2:15).

 

 

III. TO SAVE HIS PEOPLE (Hebrews 2:17-18).

 

A. “Merciful and faithful high priest” ?

 

B. “To make propitiation for the sins of the people” ?

 

Propitiation- means the removal of God’s wrath.

 

 

C. “To aid the tempted” –
