A. THE MEANING OF MOURNING.

1. What it does not mean.

B. AREAS OF MOURNING.

1. Personal sin.    

2. Sin of others.    

3. Painful circumstances of life.  

 

C. MOURNING WITHOUT COMFORT.

1. Mourning without Christ.   

2. Mourning that seeks worldly comfort.  

D. MOURNING WITH COMFORT.

1. God’s comfort now.  Isa. 61:1-2

  

2.  How does God give us His comfort?  

a. By believing that God is LOVING, GOOD, WISE, SOVEREIGN.   

b. By believing that He is always with us, never leaves us.   Ps. 23:4

c. We know that our mourning is temporary.   Ps. 30:5, 11

d. That God’s word is where I need to go.  Ps. 119:50, 76

 

3. Future comfort.    Lk. 16:25; Rev. 21:4
