Intro

A. THE INHERITANCE IN CANAAN (Joshua 14:1-5).

1. The apportionment for the 9 ½ tribes is (Joshua 14:1-2).

2. Moses gave the 2 ½ tribes their inheritance east of the Jordan (Joshua 14:3a).

3. 12 tribes received land (Joshua 14:3b-5).

B. THE FAITH OF CALEB (Joshua 14:6-15).

1. The foundation of faith (Joshua 14:6-12).

2. The courage of faith (Joshua 14:7-8).

a. Caleb gave his report (Joshua 14:7).

b. The ten gave a report that melted the people’s hearts with fear (Joshua 14:8a).

c. “But I followed the LORD my God fully” (Joshua 14:8b).

3. The action of faith (Joshua 14:9-14).

a. “he followed the LORD God fully” (Joshua 14:8, 9, 14).

b. His faith and devotion to God were consistent (Joshua 14:10-12). 45+ years.

4. The confidence of faith (Joshua 14:10-12).

a. God’s preserving grace (Joshua 14:10-11).

b. Caleb’s request (Joshua 14:12a).

c. Caleb’s humility (Joshua 14:12b).

C. THE REQUEST OF CALEB GRANTED (Joshua 14:13-15).

1. Joshua’s grant (Joshua 14:13-15).

2. Caleb’s possession (Joshua 15:13-19).
