Joshua’s Final Words – part one

Intro

A.  PAST REMINDERS: REMEMBER GOD’S FAITHFULNESS TO YOU (Joshua 23:3-5).

 

1. The LORD has been fighting for you (Joshua 23:3).

2. You now live in their lands (Joshua 23:4).

3. The LORD promised future victories (Joshua 23:5).  

Applications:

B. PRESENT EXHORTATION: BE FAITHFUL TO GOD (Joshua 23:6-11).

1.  OBEY THE LORD (Joshua 23:6-10).

a. THE RULE BOOK is the law of Moses (Joshua 23:6).  

b. Do not associate with these nations (Joshua 23:7).   

c. Continue to cling to the LORD who drove out your enemies (Joshua 23:8-10).  

2.  LOVE THE LORD (Joshua 23:11).   

C. FUTURE WARNINGS: UNFAITHFULNESS BRINGS JUDGMENT (Joshua 23:12-16).

1. If you forsake God, He will forsake you (Joshua 23:12-13).   

2. God has been faithful to all His good words of blessings (Joshua 23:14). 

  

3. God will also be faithful to all His promised threats (Joshua 23:15).
