The Grace of God in Israel’s History

Intro

 

A. REVIEW OF GOD’S GRACE OVER ISRAEL’S HISTORY (Joshua 24:2-13).

1. God’s sovereign grace in choosing Abraham (Joshua 24:2-3a).

2. God’s guiding grace (Joshua 24:3b).

3. God’s mysterious grace (Joshua 24:3b-4).

a. God begins to fulfill the SEED promise.   

b. God’s plan can create trials.   

 

4. God’s rescuing grace (Joshua 24:5-6a).     

5. God’s conquering grace  (Joshua 24:6b-12).

a. God protected them and then drowned the Egyptians in the sea (Joshua 24:7b).  

b. God defeated the Amorites East of the Jordan (Joshua 24:8).   

c. God turned Balaam’s curse into a blessing (Joshua 24:9-10).   

d. God defeated the nations West of the Jordan (Joshua 24:11-12).   

 

6. God’s benevolent grace (Joshua 24:13).   

B. THE PROPER RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE (Joshua 24:14).

1. Fear and serve the LORD.

2. Put away your idols.
