A. THE METHOD OF HIS MINISTRY (Acts 17:1-4).
1. “reasoned from the Scripture” (Acts 17:2) -
2. “explaining” (Acts 17:3) -
3. “giving evidence” (Acts 17:3) -
4. “proclaiming” (Acts 17:3) -
5. Christ-centered, gospel ministry.
a. Christ had to suffer.
b. Christ had to rise again from the dead; exaltation.
c. “This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.”
B. THE RESULTS OF HIS MINISTRY (Acts 17:4).
1. Some Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas.
2. A large number of God-fearing Greeks.
3. A number of leading women.
4. The character of their response found in 1 Thessalonians 1-2.
