Being an Overcomer

I. THE MEANING OF OVERCOMING
A. Spiritual

Sum: An overcomer is a believer who may lose some battles with sin, but who fights off the enslaving influences of sin and lives a life of faith and obedience to Christ.
II. THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING AN OVERCOMER
A. We face many enemies that want to overcome us.
B. The danger of not overcoming. 2 Pet. 2:19-20
III. WE WILL OVERCOME
A. The promises of overcoming.
Rom. 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
1John 3:9
No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1John 4:4
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them [spirit of the antichrist]; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
