Practical Exhortations toward One Another
Intro
A. ESTEEM YOUR LEADERS (1 Thess. 5:12-13a).
1. The request.
2. The attitude.
3. The recipients.
a. who diligently labor among you -
b. have charge over you in the Lord -
c. give you instruction, admonishment -
B. EDIFY ONE ANOTHER (1 Thess. 5:13b-15).
1. Live in peace (1 Thess. 5:13b).
2. Three groups that need special attention:
a. Admonish the unruly (1 Thess. 5:14).
b. Encourage the fainthearted (1 Thess. 5:14).
c. Help the weak (1 Thess. 5:14).
3. General exhortations toward all:
a. Be patient with everyone (1 Thess. 5:14).
b. Do not repay evil for evil (1 Thess. 5:15).
c. Seek after good for all (1 Thess. 5:15).

Discussion Questions: Why does Paul exhort the Thessalonians to appreciate their leaders? Why are leaders criticized today? Why is peace so important in the local church? How can peace be abused? How should patience be expressed in the church? How do we seek for the good of all including both believers and unbelievers?
