Intro

A. WHY IS GIVING THANKS TO GOD IMPORTANT?

1) It acknowledges to God His goodness and grace.

2) Because we of all people have the most to be thankful for.

3) It is a remedy for most of our spiritual problems.

B. THE COMMAND TO GIVE THANKS IN ALL THINGS

Eph. 5:20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; 1Th. 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

C. FOUR REASONS TO GIVE THANKS TO GOD THE FATHER

1) Our inheritance (Col. 1:12).

a) Our Father has qualified us to share in the inheritance.

b) Our inheritance is that of the saints in light.

c) What is our inheritance?

PLACE

PERFECTION

PERSON

2) Our rescue (Col. 1:13a).

3) Our transfer (Col. 1:13b).

a) Our spiritual move.

b) Transferred to the kingdom of Christ.

4) Our redemption (Col. 1:14).
