Intro
- WE ARE "SAINTS"?
A. Definition: (their spiritual description).
1) A saint is one who is sanctified.
2) It refers to ALL believers.
B. Three truths connected to this definition.
1) Saints are "set apart."
2) Saints are holy in God?s sight.
3) Saints have a "holy principle" implanted within them that changes the way they live.
II. WE ARE "FAITHFUL BRETHREN"
A. Or "believing" brethren acc. to some.
B. Not two groups of Christians.
C. The doctrine of perseverance. D. The family connection.
III. WE ARE "IN CHRIST."
Hughes 2 Corinthians - "It speaks of security in Him who has Himself borne in His own body the judgment of God against our sin; it speaks of acceptance in Him with whom alone God is well pleased; it speaks of assurance for the future in Him who is the Resurrection and the Life; it speaks of the inheritance of glory in Him who, as the only begotten Son, is the sole heir of God; it speaks of participation in the divine nature in Him who is the everlasting Word; it speaks of knowing the truth, and being free in that truth, in Him who Himself is the truth." (p. 202).
IV. WE LIVE IN OUR OWN COLOSSAE.
Christians live in two realms.
