Intro

A. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE FALSE TEACHERS IS CERTAIN (2 Peter 2:3).

1. It is not idle.

2. It is not asleep.

B. GOD’S PATTERN OF PAST JUDGMENTS (2 Peter 2:4-6).

1. God punished the angels who sinned (2 Peter 2:4). Two views:

a. The original fall of Satan and the demons.

b. Fallen angels of Gen. 6.

c. Their judgement.

2. God punished the ancient world in the flood (2 Peter 2:5).

3. God punished Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Peter 2:6).

a. God turned them into ashes. Gen. 19:24

b. An example for the future ungodly.
