A. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE RESURRECTION.

1. Triumphed over our sin and curse of death.

2. Without it: 1 Cor. 15:12-19

3. The life of the church is based on Christ’s resurrection

4. Reasons to believe it.

B. CHRIST’S RESURRECTION BODY.

1. “it is raised a spiritual body” 1 Cor. 15:44

2. What did Paul mean by “spiritual”? Examples:

a. human and indwelt by the Holy Spirit – 1Cor. 2:15
b. manna – 1Cor. 10:3
c. water from the rock – 1Cor. 10:4

3. Christ’s body was resurrected.

a. His body could be seen and heard. 1 Tim. 1:17; Jn. 20:20
b. His body could be held and felt. Jn. 20:17, 27-28
c. His body could eat physical food. Lk. 24:42-43

4. Supernatural features of Christ’s body.

a. It could pass through His grave clothes. Jn. 20:6
b. It could vanish from sight. Lk. 24:31
b. It could pass through closed doors. John 20:19-20
c. It could be lifted up into heaven. Lk. 24:50-52; Acts 1:9

C. OUR RESURRECTION BODY.

1. This body is unfit for heaven. 1 Cor. 15:50

2. Christ will give us a body like His. Phil. 3:20-21.
